Pandacea software helps businesses trace their way back to normal
March 2021 marked the one-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 lockdown. Employees were sent home, business started operating remotely and contact tracing became a necessary practice to slow the spread of the virus. Contact tracing involves identifying cases and their contacts then working with them to stop the transmission of COVID-19. A Windsor tech startup is using innovation to make the task of contract tracing customers less trying for businesses. Read more

The Vegan Gardiners, a plant-based deli, is now open in Ford City. The new deli, which opened Saturday, March 27th, started as a personal passion project for the owners (and couple) of 10 years. Highschool student launches successful haircare business

Efe Eghujovbo wasn’t looking to launch a business venture while still in high school, she just really wanted to find a hair-care product that worked for her. “Everything I was buying at the store was directed at one type of hair,” she said. “My hair is very coarse and difficult to maintain. Windsor COVID testing firm helps Ontario's movie, television industry keep operating

Movie and television productions went dark in Ontario when the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the province last spring, but that’s when the light went on for four Windsor natives employed in the entertainment industry. The Holy Name Secondary School graduates formed a company (Pulsar UV) specializing in health, safety and COVID testing of production crews/actors that is currently helping five Ontario productions keep the cameras rolling. Applications for Summer Company are now open! The deadline to apply is May 23, 2021. As a participant, you will receive start-up money to kick-off a new summer business, hands-on business training, advice and mentorship from local business leaders and an award of up to $3,000. Ontario Tourism and Hospitality Small Business Support Grant
The government is introducing the new Ontario Tourism and Hospitality Small Business Support Grant, which will provide an estimated $100 million in one-time payments of $10,000 to $20,000 to eligible small businesses in the tourism and hospitality sector. Applications will be announced soon.
Applications for the Ontario Small Business Support Grant close April 7. The grant helps small businesses that were required to close or significantly restrict services to receive between $10,000 and $20,000. Announced in the 2021 Ontario Budget, businesses who previously received this grant will receive top-up funding for the same amount; no application is necessary. Learn more
